After enjoying a FABULOUS Easter breakfast this am and then going to the movies for popcorn, I had another day like last week and am left with only 1 Weekly extra point. Rather than let it “spiral into the negatives” like last week, I made the decision that I am NOT going to let it! I’ve decided that I will make sure to NOT “dip into my weekly’s” for the rest of the week (cause once I do, I find it too easy to keep dipping) AND from now on when I do go over my daily points, I am going to push myself to do 1 hour of exercise rather than my 20-30 minutes (last week I started doing 1 hour 2x).
Since I went over tonight, I knew I HAD to get my exercise in, but the couch was feeling SOOOOO good after a LONG day. I tried to come up with every excuse again as to why I could “pass” tonight on the exercise, but after a LONG battle in my head I remembered what our leader said “if you keep doing what you’re doing, you’re going to keep seeing what you’re seeing” (or something like that), this had me vision my goal and I got my butt off the couch and headed downstairs to workout. I was getting bored of jogging the halls of my house, so I decided to shake it up a bit. Not gonna lie, the first 10 minutes was torture and felt like forever, but then I allowed myself to get “taken away” into my music and before I knew it, an hour had passed! I was feeling AMAZING and decided to push myself a little more since I splurged so much today. The sweat was pouring down my face and it brought even more inspiration. It reminded me of years ago when I use to jog on the treadmill. Normally I can’t stand to sweat (as I am ALWAYS HOT! – hopefully this Natural stuff will kick in soon for these flashes!), but once you get “into the groove” again, and are working out, the sweat actually begins to feel pretty amazing (ONLY when I am working out!!!)! Between the music and my focus on my goal, I was able to do 1 hour and 20 minutes of Cardio – ALL but 5 minutes of it was in the “Cardio and Peak” range - I was SUPER proud of myself!
I decided to “look back” to the first week I started Weight Watchers and was SUPER impressed to see the changes I have made in 8 weeks. Not only am I down 15.2 lbs. now as of Saturday, my clothes feel looser and I can exercise longer, but I’ve increased my steps daily AND my “resting heart rate” went from 85 to 71 !!!!! This is SO worth getting my butt off the couch when I don’t feel like moving!
I was going through ALL the programs I have tried over the years to lose weight, and the MOST I have lost throughout all of them (and there was MANY!) was 18 lbs., so I am super excited to be 4.8 lbs. away from a Milestone for me of the 20 lbs. down!! Rather than looking at the “big picture” and getting discouraged at how far I have to go, I am re thinking how I look at it and celebrating all the little milestones along the way.
NEVER GIVE UP, YOU GOT THIS!!!!
