I went out and purchased a WHOLE LOT of measuring cups and measuring spoons at the dollar store today (the guy looked at me like I was crazy and asked what I was doing - I told him I've finally started cooking Lol ). I must say I think this is the BEST investment so far on this journey, as while making dinner tonight I ran out of measuring spoons and cups and I was just going to "eye ball it" but I STOPPED MYSELF and washed up the items I just bought at the dollar store to use. Too often we "go back to our old ways", and we think, "oh one time wont hurt", but that "one time" leads into many times and eventually "ALL THE TIME". Take my advice, if you are trying to lose weight, go visit my buddy at the dollar store and "stock up" on the measuring cups and spoons - the $2 a set is so worth it (and he'll get a good laugh thinking the whole town is going crazy :D ) !! Honestly though, grab a bunch of spares and keep them in a bucket on your counter so they are always handy and than you wont "cheat" and "go back to your old ways". We ALL know that our portions start off good when measuring, but once we get lazy and "eye ball it", our stomachs take over our eyes and the portions begin to get larger and larger.
