I woke up this am with a conversation in my head from one of our WW meetings about setting goals. It's EASY to set goals as we just chose what our dreams are. The hard part is getting the plan in motion to REACH those goals. While I did set my "5 year goals", I left it at that and didn't think more about the "plan" (well I did, I said I will give myself 5 years to reach it). This is too easy and not being accountable, so this morning I decided to "get more serious". I am thrilled I am at the 10 lbs mark BUT I WANT MORE!!!! I want to reach the weight that I have never seen yet on the scale in ALL my attempts to lose this weight AND I want to reach a special goal for the summer. I am going to MY FIRST "Out door concert" in July with some friends, not only is it my first outdoor concert, but it's all weekend AND without my husband (who tends to be my "comfort" and big things with lots of people), so I will be doing a LOT of things outside my "comfort zone". Since I am one who is ALWAYS hot and sweats super easy (always have been even at my thinnest), I want to make this concert as comfortable as possible and that's when I decided to make a goal to BE DOWN 64 lbs. by the weekend of CMT FEST! I started with a chart that I hung on my cupboards where I go for food so I can be reminded of it every day. It has my goal, my exercises that I will do and below (not seen here) is a list of the dates so I can check off when I've done them. I am a "visual person" and need to see things to keep motivated. I decided rather than "WISHING" my goals, I am going to do something to start "REACHING" them!

When our kids were little we made a hockey rink in the basement for them to play in since they live, ate and breathed hockey! After they got too big for it, I turned it in to a gym. I joined a few gyms and did well the first month or so, but never stuck to it for various reasons. I decided rather than pay to go somewhere I am not always going to, why not put the money into a gym at home. Of course it went well for a bit, but then back to falling out of routine and getting back to my old habits. While my son uses it every day, it was a MESS down there piled with things (I have no idea how he even worked out!). Today I decided I was going to clean it up and start using it! I spent TWO HOURS cleaning it and it looks as good as new again! If I am going to "stick to this", than I need an organized place to work out. I know I will not be doing any "crazy boot camp routines" down there, but "it's a step" and every little step gets you closer to your DREAMS!
If you aren't seeing the results you'd like, MAKE A PLAN to REACH YOUR GOALS. TAKE ACTION, and BELIEVE! Remember we don't have to be perfect, we just have to TRY :)
