While I'm not ready to do one thing every DAY that scares me, I've been doing one thing every TRIP that does! This time sure is up there with the helicopter ride in Lake Louise on our Held Sisters Trip! I have a HUGE fear of heights (just ask my sister - she use to joke about it until she witnessed it at Oprah Winfrey - I told her I don't do "nose bleeds" :O !!!!), my goal on our trip to Las Vegas was to do the Skywalk (4,000 feet over hanging a cliff!!!!). My sister and Dad had a bet (geee glad to know my Dad has such faith in me - HE picked that I wouldn't do it!). Once we got there I planned on going on, getting pictures and than heading off. Well, I MADE IT ON and got 1/2 way around when my height phobia hit me - thankfully my husband held me back long enough for the photographer to take a picture! At first I was disappointed in myself for not going around the whole way, but than my husband said how proud he was of me for even going on it and making it half way (as it bugged him too and normally he's not afraid of this stuff). We tend to beat ourselves up, and we have to remember every little step is a step in the right direction. I am so glad I pushed myself beyond my limits. At the next stop I even ventured a little closer to the cliff at the Canyon. One day I will make it to the top of a peak and not let my fears beat me, but for now I'll just keep taking those tiny steps. Hmmmmm where should we travel to now :D
