I was going to get home from work late today and hadn't "pre-planned dinner" (and was tired of all the chicken), I had a "craving" for Subway (not sure why as I ALWAYS feel awful after, but isn't that how we are with most of our "cravings"). I decided to pick it up for the family. I've been working out hard this week to reach my goal, and had extra daily pts so thought I’d treat myself to a full sub (thinking it would still be in my daily limit as I get anxious anytime I have to dip into my weekly extra points which I rarely do). I pre planned in my head how I could keep it low in points so this time I ordered Light mayo and 1/2 the meat. All these years I assumed the "sub sauce" was Italian dressing, but while the guy was making my sub this time, I noticed the lid said "House Dressing". When I got home I enjoyed EVERY last bite and began to enter my points into my WW system - that's when I got a HUGE SHOCK!!!!!!!!! That "healthier sub" now turned out to put me WAY WAY over my daily limit which dipped WAY into my weekly points. Since I was originally counting the Italian Dressing as the sub sauce before I always fit it into my daily points, but now when I hit "House Sauce" the pts value came up 10 pts - YES 10 pts :O (the average person gets 30 pts ALL DAY) !!!! That is MORE than most of my meals in each sitting and that's only 1 serving (1/2 a sub) !!!!!!! OMGosh my jaw literally hit the floor. I didn't believe it so I went to the Subway website and found the nutrition values and sure enough when I plugged them in it STILL came up 10 pts!!!!!!!!! I could have cried! My husband said there is no way what they classify as a serving is on 1/2 a sub so instead of adding 2 servings (since I ate the foot long) which would have cost me 20 pts - YES 20 pts, I just calculated 1 serving. Oh my goodness if I claimed 2 servings I would have no weekly points left either!
This just goes to show that this journey is always going to throw curves on the path and as much as we prepare, we can't be perfect. I would have let this fester in me and beat myself up mentally over it before BUT I can't do that anymore, I have to stop trying to be perfect and remembered I am still learning and these things will happen - BUT holy moly 10 pts (20pts for 2 halves) is CRAZY and it's gonna take a little bit to let this "oops" go!!!!!!! This also shows we REALLY aren't aware of what we put into our mouths!
Looks like I’m turning my "Stargazing Playlist" on LOUD and walking it off tonight! I think I will get some Luke Bryan posters to hang in the basement for even more motivation!
